Don has found some funny, old Victor Borge videos on YouTube. Who’s Victor Borge? He’s an accomplished Danish pianist who paired his skill at the keyboard with the funny bone and timing of a comedian to create some hilarious skits and send-ups, especially of the puffed-up and very snobbish world of classical music.
I’m saddened that there’s no one like him today. Unfortunately, anyone who tried to follow in his shoes would probably end up like all the other foul-mouthed so-called comics who rely on sex jokes, potty humor and shock to amuse their audiences. Borge knew how to get a laugh without violating charity or chastity.
