Prayer updates

The good news is that my nephew Joshua, for whom I asked for prayers because of some unusual swellings on the back of his head, is doing fine. My sister was vague on the details, but it was some kind of viral infection related to the blisters he had all over him.

The not-so-good news except in a “she’ll-be-better-soon” way is that my mother goes into surgery tomorrow to have her other knee replaced. She had the first knee done last year and the recovery was bit harrowing, especially since they didn’t realize for a few days that she was allergic to the painkiller they had her on (Demerol, I think). And then trying to do physical therapy when the other knee was still bad. This time I’m hoping that all will go much smoother and she’ll be up and around in no time.

Your prayers would be appreciated, of course.

  • My 70-year-old dad just had his knee done in March.  The guy now thinks he’s Jack Freaking Palance!

Prayers for your mom and all those involved with the operation and recovery.

  • Sounds like your nephew had some form of herpes zoster—chicken pox gone awry. It can be pretty nasty but it’s not altogether unusual.

Continued prayers for his health and your mom’s!
