The Pope is coming to America!
Unfortunately for us Northerners, he’s going to South America. The Vatican has confirmed the previously rumored trip to Brazil in May 2007. It’s not much of a surprise actually since the Pope himself suggested to Brazil’s bishops last October that he be invited to attend the next meeting of the Latin American bishops conference and then he told them where to hold the meeting, the shrine of Our Lady of Aparecida. What were they or the Vatican staff going to do? Say No?
Maybe he can make a swing north during the jaunt across the Atlantic. We’ll keep the light on for him.
