New priests for Boston

New priests for Boston

Saturday saw the ordination of the latest class of priests for Boston with seven men receiving the sacrament at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross.

As is becoming usual these days, it was a diverse group: A native of Congo; a former Broadway actor; an immigrant from Dusseldorf, Germany;

The article focuses on Fr. Charles Madi Okin, who was a 34-year-old seminarian fleeing the Democratic Republic of Congo after his father and brother were killed by militias. He eventually found his way back into seminary in Boston by way of the Pine Street Inn homeless shelter.

The other six newly ordained priests are Fathers Robert James Blaney, Christopher Jude Casey, Andreas Rafael Davison, Martin George Dzengeleski, Daniel Joseph Kennedy, Jr., and Matthew Joseph Westcott.
