So I’m reading Mark Shea’s blog today and I see an email appeal from a reader asking him for help in getting the word out about his candidacy for the 15th Congressional District in Florida. Then I read the name of emailer: Timothy Shipe.
It can’t be… I had a roommate in college named Timothy Shipe. Now I don’t know if it’s the same guy—we lost touch some time back—but how many Tim Shipes can there be? And I do know that Tim is a Catholic high school religion teacher and the views expressed in the email certainly sound like Tim.
What is with my former college roommates? If Tim wins this admittedly longshot bid, he would be the second of my former roommates to serve in Congress. How weird is that?
Wasn’t he the one teaching in American Samoa? Why leave there???! Seems to me he wrote good articles for the Troub as well…same guy?
