Obviously, I’ve been scarce so far today. I had an important interview all morning which I wish I could tell you all about, but can’t. Hopefully things will work out and I can share good news.
Anyway, I dropped Melanie and Bella off at the airport last night for their flight to Houston. Unfortunately, they were initially on standby for the overbooked flight, but someone took the standby deal. Then the flight was delayed more than an hour. At least Melanie had a nice couple sitting next to her on the plane who helped her with the baby and then the rental-car bus driver in Houston who helped her with her bags on and off his bus. Nice to know there are still people out there willing to help a lone woman struggling with a child and several bags.
So they’re safe and sound, which is good to know, and I’m rattling around in an empty house. Cigars and football and Buffalo wings this weekend! Woo-hoo!
On the whole, I’d much rather have them here though.
