So how were my predictions for Apple’s big announcements today?
I guess my prediction of a widescreen, touchscreen iPod was a lot of wishful thinking. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s coming based on patents they’ve filed and hints dropped by their Taiwanese manufacturing partners, but I think it’s so revolutionary that they’re still working the bugs out. But for now, they have brighter displays, higher capacity, and simple downloadable games. The iPod nano and the iPod shuffle both got revs as well.
As for my other predictions, Apple is adding movies to the iTunes store and Disney is the only studio right off the bat. They’ve also upgraded the quality of the videos you can download. Compared to Amazon Unbox, its new movie download service, Apple’s iTunes is already miles ahead.
And while it’s not exactly an Airport Express, the iTV is a set-top box that connects to your television and stream movies, TV shows, and music wirelessly in very high quality.
Hey that’s three accurate predictions out of four. I could be a Mac pundit if I ever want to give up my regular blog.
Now, to start saving my pennies for the $299 list price of the iTV when it becomes available after the first of the year.
I told Julie that my mother does call-work for iPod (meaning she takes the calls), and she had been getting questions for weeks about this stuff and hadn’t heard until today. She was all excited about it even though she has no iPod nor wants to buy one.
I, on the other hand, am wanting one more and more.
I was just hoping the price on my U2 special edition would come down since it’s not the new specs. No such luck.![downer](https://www.bettnet.com/blog/images/smileys/downer.gif)
Slingbox isn’t the same thing.
