Who needs expensive toys? One of Isabella’s favorite toys at the moment is an old diapers box. We buy diapers in 96-count boxes from Target and the empties appear to be the perfect size for Bella.
She carries it around the house, putting various objects in it and dumping them out. She turns it over and sits on the bottom like a portable stool. It’s funny watching her imagination come alive as she learns to see the possibilities inherent in an object, re-purposing trash into a multi-purpose tool.
And, Yes, this is the same box in which she learned the lesson that sitting on the open top isn’t a good idea. It didn’t seem to dissuade her from further fun.
She’s just going to love you for this when she’s 16. Enjoy her when she’s young.
