‘Star Wars’ fan dies after his final wish was granted - The Boston Globe

Earlier this year, fans and the cast of the Avengers movies joined a social media campaign called #CapForStrat to make it possible for a dying fan of all things superhero to see the new Avengers movie before its release because he wouldn't make it that long. (That fan was Stratford Caldecott, who I had worked with on a few issues of Catholic World Report magazine through his Second Spring faith and culture group.) Start got his wish.

Now fans have done it again, this time for a dying Star Wars fan who was able to watch the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens in a private viewing on November 5. He passed away yesterday.

The news caused me to ask Melanie, not at all flippantly, if she thought we got to see the movie sequels and read the book sequels in heaven that we never got here on earth.
