My niece was baptized yesterday on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. My sister and her husband have eight kids now and between baptisms and First Communions, it seems we go to Mass at her parish, St. Adelaide’s in Peabody, about once a year.
It’s a beautiful place mainly because the priests have stuffed it to the gills with statues and paintings and icons and relics of the saints. Every time we go, the kids love to take a tour of the place, pointing out all the well known and not-so well known saints and blesseds, from St. Therese of Lisieux to Blessed Karl von Habsburg.
Incidentally, Google+ has a great feature that when you upload your photos, if it finds any in a series, it will automatically created an animated GIF (they call it "Auto Awesome"), so I’ve included a few here, including one of the moment of baptism of my niece; another of the priest, my sister and her husband, and the godparents posing after; one of the proud parents receiving a special blessing; and one of my five kids sitting all together on my sister’s couch.
