An incentive to avoid resolution

An incentive to avoid resolution

John Schultz at Catholic Light notes a story about the Spokane diocese, which has declared bankruptcy, has stopped paying its lawyers. He quotes the story as saying that the diocese has been paying its own lawyers and the victims lawyers who have been hashing out a settlement for the past 16 months.

Hmm, do you think that there’s no incentive for them to actually come to an agreement? I agree with John that this sounds like a bad idea.
