This was an old story when it was published last week, wasn’t it? A former US bishops’ conference employee claims he was fired for running a Catholics for Kerry web site. I remember this from earlier this year when Deal Hudson made a big issue of this in his newsletter and Ono Ekeh was subsequently fired. So why is this coming up again now?
I still think the conference was on solid ground to fire Ekeh, although it’s also a message to bloggers. The conference said Ekeh was fired for moderating the message board from his work computer. So if you blog from work or even using a work computer at home, you might want to make sure you’re not doing something of which they will disapprove.
