Think of it as an American Evangelical scapular. Actually, the Shield of Strength has an interesting story and is being worn by hundreds of thousands of US troops, including many in Iraq and Afghanistan. I read a good wire story about President Bush asking for and being presented one worn an Army Ranger who died in Iraq. I hope our Protestant brethren continue to learn the lessons that we Catholics learned long ago.
