Pavarotti’s ok, but I always liked Bing Crosby.

Crosby’s a crooner, and Ave Maria’s not a crooner’s tune, so I’m in for Pavarotti. But if you’re looking for one of the new “crossover” types, maybe Andrea Bocelli has recorded it by now.
Bocelli has a whole CD of Ave Marias and other Marian hymns. I happen to own a copy.
I was trying to decide which Bocelli album to buy last weekend. What’s the name of that one? Any others you recommend?
It is “Sacred Arias”. It is the only recording of his that I own.
Biebl’s Ave Maria sung by Chanticleer or the Naval Academy Mens Glee Club is an excellent choice. You need at least five voices, though.
Pavarotti’s recording of the Ave Maria is the best.
But then, I am a fanatic supporter of Lucaino Pavotti and I think that every aria sung by him is the best.
