Ave Maria University had a press op today unveiling the first phase of the new campus including the massive steel and glass church that will be at the center of the campus. They say it will be the largest church in the US. It all looks very nice. There are pictures at the link above.
Non disputandem de gustibus. I think it is hideous. Tom Monaghan, the former Domino’s Pizza magnate, was a huge fan of Frank Lloyd Wright. I suspect that with his donation making the biggest chunk of the university’s foundation, Mr. Monaghan gets some say in the design of the main buildings. This is just too much glass for my tastes. And the first big hurricane that comes along….
