  • As an O’Brien, I heartily applaud the Holy See’s elevation to metropolitan of yet another of my clansmen. All allegations of a world domination plot should be ignored, of course….

    A lamh laidir!

  • Excellent choice.  Archbishop O’Brien was a rumored name to succeed Cardina Law prior to the announcement of Cardinal O’Malley.  It’s good to see O’Brien put in such an important post afterall.

  • Maureen – such a plot for world domination (by either your clan or we Irish in general), if extant, would be doomed to failure, I’m afraid.  My father said that’s why God made beer….

  • I wish the incoming archbishop well, but I must admit that I will miss the retiring incumbent.  I’ve been a fan of his since his days as the second string mitred head here in Harrisburg.  With a little luck he may decide to return here in retirement.
