A literal “flash of light” isn’t necessary for it to be awesome

I don’t understand the backlash here. While the “flash of light” at conception is not a literal flash of light nor an artifact of ensoulment, it’s still a significant scientific achievement because it provides a biological marker of the moment that an egg and sperm together transform to become a new human person. That’s worth celebrating a little.
