A Utah woman has been charged with murdering her unborn child. The hospital told her she needed to have a Caesarean section to save both the twins she carrying, but she refused because she didn’t want the scar. She told the nurse that she’d rather one of the twins die than have the scar. Prosecutors charged her with depraved indifference to human life. Incidentally Utahg has a law that can hold mother’s liable for causing injury or death to their unborn child ... unless of course they get an abortion, in which case causing injury or death to their child is just peachy.
Why wasn’t there a guardian ad litem appointed as soon as this objection arose? They c-section could have been done on a court-order. (I have more in my blog.)
