While I’m waiting on a translation of Vatican gay seminarian document (at first glance it appears to be what we’ve heard), here’s a fun exercise on another front.
Go to the web site of Catholic Charities of Paterson, NJ, specifically the page for Hope House. Click on the “Support World AIDS Day” graphic at the top of the page. Then click on “safer sex” in the menu.
Why is an agency of the Catholic Church linking to an organization that is advocating extramarital sexual activity and contraception? And wrapping it all in a big frame that says Catholic Charities on it? It gives the impression that this is sanctioned by the Church.
Once again, why do we have a “Catholic Charities” if all it does is undermine the Church’s teaching?
That “Metromate” link is a real winner.
Time for a nationwide expose on Catholic Charities.
I’ll bet half the “catholics” out there think there’s nothing wrong with any of that. Hey, the Metromate link even espouses non smoking. Not “smoke outside”, mind you – you should actually abstain from smoking! Sex – well, I just guess abstaining from that would be too much to ask.
To rewrite a well-worn rhetorical question:
If being Catholic were illegal, what would be the evidence against Catholic Charities?
