The Zero Tolerance policy for pervert priests is not first and foremost to protect us from these priestsence over any artwork, but I don’t think most rational people are arguing otherwise. I guess I’ll have to respectfully disagree with the cardinal.
The cardinal isn’t saying we shouldn’t meditate on the Passion. He’s speaking specifically of theatrical performances of the Passion. Be sure to read the linked article before commenting to be sure you understand what he’s saying.
