Judge Robert Bork, the former Supreme Court nominee who was railroaded by the Senate and thus was responsible for the term “borked”, has entered the Catholic Church. Bork was baptized in Washington, DC, by Fr. C. John McCloskey—who has baptized many of the powerful of Washington including most recently Sen. Sam Brownback of Kansas. Bork’s sponsors were Kate O’Beirne of National Review and John O’Sullivan of United Press International.
Welcome to the family, Judge Bork! The man who wrote Slouching toward Gomorrah is most welcome here.
IIRC, Judge Bork is married to a Catholic, so this happy event has been long hoped for.
