A Dominican priest in Florida was cleared of accusations of sex abuse, both by the Church and by a trial. Father Chris Eggleton, OP, will be reinstated to the ministry immediately. Without knowing the merits or arguments of Eggleton’s case, it does bear acknowledging that not every accusation bears the weight of truth. Not every accused priest is guilty. We should still treat every accusation seriously, but they should also be investigated with alacrity.

Bravo….it is about time that we see something postitive. This statement is at the heart of what several of us have been saying all along. They should be investigated, but not every priest who is accused is bad. We have to believe that, we simply do.
