Salon.com is once again (still?) on the brink of extinction, according to this article. Once in a while, there is something interesting to read there, especially if you want to see how the other half (i.e. liberals) thinks. But overall I won’t miss it when it goes away. From the sex-saturated near-porn discussions to the tales of angry libs trying their hand at backyard bioterrorism (remember the guy who tried to infect presidential candidate Gary Bauer and his staff with the flu by pretending to volunteer for the campaign and then licking all the door knobs in the office?), much of Salon was a great wasteland of nihilism and subjective individualism. I won’t shed a tear.
