We’re related!

It seems that Bill Cork and I are distant relations. Bill mentioned in a post that he has Acadian ancestors and since I do too, I looked at his genealogy chart and, lo and behold! we have a common ancestor.

It is one Daniel LeBlanc, born in France in about 1626, moved to Nova Scotia, and married Francoise Gaudet about 1650. He seems to be descended from Daniel’s son, Andre, while I am descended from son Rene. Small world, isn’t it when a guy named Bettinelli and a guy named Cork, both Catholic bloggers, can trace their lineage back to a common ancestor almost 400 years ago in a remote corner of Canada.
