Here we have more priests taking responsibility for the actions of their brothers. Like the priests in the Midwest who set up a fund that they are paying into for victims of abuse by their fallen brethren, the vocations director for the Diocese of Springfield, Mass., is setting up a fund for the same purpose. Father Daniel Pacholec’s first fundraising will be running the Boston Marathon and getting sponsors. Good for him. It’s an important message that we are all responsible for our family, and that the Scandal in the Church is a call for action by all of us, not just pervert priests, bishops, or law enforcement.
