Want any more proof that Voice of the Faithful is fading from relevance. How many times were they quoted in the past week by either major Boston newspaper as the biggest news since the Scandal started unfolded: the mammoth settlement. I can’t recall one, but even if there was one, it was buried deep in the story.
Here’s more evidence. Archbishop O’Malley sends a message to parishes about the annual archdiocesan appeal and not a word about VOTF’s Voice of Compassion Fund, which was set up to siphon money away from the archdiocese’s appeal. Last year, you couldn’t talk about fundraising in Boston without VOTF being brought up. They’re history now.
