Fox News is reporting that Washington Post journalist Michael Kelly has been killed in Iraq. He was embedded with the 3rd ID and just yesterday I linked to an excellent story he wrote about the battle for the Karbala Gap. It’s a tragedy when anyone dies on a battlefield, doubly so when they’re an unarmed civilian, and more so when he’s a member of your own profession doing his job. My prayers go out for the repose of his soul and the consolation of his family.
