A former Soviet general and intelligence agent tells us the origins of the groups organizing the main anti-war protests. The Worker’s World Party and the World Peace Council were set up, trained, and funded by the Soviet Union. The WWP’s newspaper was even written in Moscow and then Romania. Internation ANSWER, the current main organizer of the protests, is an offshoot of the WWP.
The raison d’etre of these groups is to promote anti-Americanism a cause they don’t seem to have abandoned even a decade after their patron dissolved. In fact, General Pacepa wonders if they still have connections to Moscow and the new Russia.
