Very interesting. A CIA analyst says that there’s no evidence that Saddam had actually transferred WMD to bin Laden and it gets big media play as if it refutes Bush’s case for war. (Not that anyone was suggesting it had already happened, but that knowing Saddam, a rogue madman, it was likely to happen.) But the Weekly Standard reports that Saddam and Osama cooperated in terrorist activities, possibly including 9/11, and we hardly hear a peep.
The information comes in a classified memo from the Pentagon to the Senate Intelligence Committee, which no one in the government has refuted. This could be the smoking gun everyone is looking for. If it does prove a connection between the two, then it says the war does fit the just cause criteria.
