The enemy is us

The enemy is us

Catholic World News has a new feature called “Phil’s Forum.” It’s a place for editor Phil Lawler and selected writers to offer analysis of the top news of the day. Today, Phil offers “The ‘Catholic issue’ in an election year”, about how a candidate’s Catholic faith plays a role in elections, and Leila Lawler gives us “Has Catholic corruption given us same-sex marriage?” The thesis of that piece is very interesting, noting that the ultimate cause of the current crisis over same-sex marriage may not be gays, but ourselves, i.e. Catholics who don’t live according to the Church’s teachings on sexual morality. In other words, we have met the enemy and the enemy is us.

By the way, the two pieces are for subscribers only.
