Richard Williams, father of tennis phenoms Venus and Serena Williams, is a strange guy. He claims that people who say tennis is boring because the two sisters dominate every tournament are just racists. He says he doesn’t salute the American flag because America is racist. He says people who ask if his daughters might have doped up to become so strong are racists. Meanwhile, he says: “And I say to all the old white guys, ‘why don’t you leave the stands?’” But that’s not racist.
If professional tennis is so racist how did his daughters become the top-ranked players in the world? If America is so racist how did he—through his daughters—become so rich?
The guy is a laughing-stock. His rantings are laughable. And they would still be laughable if his skin were white.
