The Jesuits have settled 15 lawsuits involving the abuse of boys at two high schools, one in Boston and one in Portland, Maine. One of the two priests served at both high schools in the 1980s and early 90s. The other served there in 1970s and 80s. I hate to say it but I’m glad I opted not to apply to go to Catholic high school when my mom asked me if I wanted to when I was in 8th grade. I might have gone to Boston College High School and would have been there at the time. Who would have imagined I would say I’m glad I didn’t go to Catholic schools?
