A columnist for the Arizona Republic has one of the most balanced and forthright examinations of the Scandal that I have seen in secular print. Robert Robb concludes that the Phoenix county attorney overreached himself somewhat, but that Bishop O’Brien is not thereby unjustly constrained by the legal agreement. In other words, CA Romley may not be the white knight he portrays himself to be, but he may be in fact the appropriate tool of the Holy Spirit for reform of the Phoenix diocese.
