Just found out that Cardinal Law resigned this morning and the Pope accepted. Details to follow.
UPDATE: Auxiliary Bishop Richard Lennon has been appointed apostolic administrator. He was appointed by the Pope rather than elected by the local consultors. Interestingly, he has the least seniority of all the current auxiliaries in Boston. And he’s the rector of St. John’s Seminary.
