Oh, that too

I just received an email notice from the Archdiocese of Boston’s Office for Young Adult Ministry. Every year they hold a New Year’s Eve Mass and Potluck Dinner. Traditionally, it was celebrated by Cardinal Law. Here’s the notice:

Due to a conflict in Bishop Lennon’s schedule, the New Year’s Eve Mass and Young Adult Potluck Dinner scheduled for Dec. 31 at Our Lady’s in Newton has been cancelled.

This is an event that has been popular among Young Adults and we have every intention of continuing the tradition next year.

Oh, and, by the way, there’s that pesky ban on all archdiocesan-related or -sponsored functions at Our Lady’s in Newton, whose pastor is Father “Call me Walter” Cuenin. And of course, Our Lady’s is the de facto hedquarters of Voice of the Faithful. I would think that when the notice went out to all diocesan offices two weeks ago, that might have perked their ears up and they would have said, at the time, oops, we have to move the event.

Just because Cardinal Law is gone, doesn’t mean all his orders are now kaput. Who’s running things over at YA Ministry?
