As the Boston Globe talks about the possible next archbishop of Boston we get the usual heterodox diatribes. Based on the spurious poll (see next entry), the newspaper tells us that what Boston Catholics want is a new archbishop who is “open to change,” i.e. with regard to fundamental Church teachings. Never mind that no matter how “open to change” a bishop is, it won’t change Church teaching a whit.
