The US Department of Education has announced that schools must allow students to pray outside the classroom and teachers to hold religious meetings among themselves or face losing federal money. The article states that directive is a push by the Bush administration that schools allow as much religious freedom as the courts have defined. It’s unfortunate that we have to go by the definitions of ideologically active courts and not the original intent of the framers of the Constitution, but one battle at a time I guess.
