Media tongues are wagging over news that Cardinal Law met with the Pope yesterday. I wouldn’t read much into it. Law is still a cardinal, and even though he resigned in disgrace, he wasn’t forced out by the Pope or anyone else, at least not publicly. He still maintains his position on several very important pontifical councils and he often has business in the Vatican. So for him to meet with the Pope is not all that unusual.
