Honoring the suicide bomber

Palestinians in the Jenin refugee camp have named their main square after the Iraqi suicide bomber who killed himself and four American soldiers in An Najaf.

“We want to honor the brave Iraqi officer who carried out the first suicide attack against the American and British occupiers. We hope there will be more suicide operations in the coming days” a senior Palestinian official in Jenin told The Jerusalem Post.

This follows days of marches by Palestinians praising Saddam, the Butcher of Baghdad, mainly because he’s been giving money to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers.

I know that I’m supposed to be symapthetic to our Palestinian Christian brethren, but I can’t assign a moral equivalence to those who would honor a suicide bomber with Israel. Even in its worst tactics (at least those it is accused of), they aren’t as bad. Yes, it’s probably not the Palestinian Christians who are praising him and it’s certainly not all Palestinians, but I don’t hear any condemnations either.
