The Mass Supreme Court is hearing arguments in a case demanding gay marriage. If the article is accurate, the justices are throwing softball questions at the pro-gay lawyers (“Why should we legalize it when no other state has?” “Because it’s the right thing to do, your honor.” Pause for theme music to swell.) while throwing inane questions at the state which is defending traditional marriage (“The optimal setting for procreation and child-rearing is a family with a parent of each sex,” says state lawyer. “Could the state then order a couple who did not have children to divorce after 10 years?” asks chief justice. Cue laugh track.)
The fact is that cultural re-engineers know that the vast majority of people don’t want their loony ideas implemented so it would never pass a popular referendum or legislative process but they also know that if they get them implemented by judicial fiat a la Roe v. Wade, then the people will grow to accept it. That’s why the appointment of liberal judges is so important to their plans for America and thus so important for those who want to foil those plans.
