The Boston Herald reports that Fr. Jovo Zovko, the Franciscan priest from Medjugorje, is banned from speaking at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception because his accused of sexual misconduct. I hadn’t heard anything about that. From what I understand Zovko had his faculties removed by the Bishop of Mostar for being disobedient, i.e. promoting the apparitions despite the bishop’s disapproval. In 1994, Zovko received further punishment for continuing to hear confessions despite the censure.
Anyone know anything different? Has he been accused of sex abuse?
