Father gets 20 years

A priest of the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky, received 20 years in prison after confessing to abuse. To be exact, Father Louis Miller pled guilty to 44 counts of indecent and immoral practices and six counts of sexual abuse with 21 young men (although, curiously, it’s difficult to find the sex of the victims in the article. I wonder why.)

This is the same priest who was quoted as saying of his priestly ministry: “I did a very excellent job, except for the damn abuse.” Like the accountant who says, “I kept excellent books, except for the damn embezzlement.” Father, doesn’t the fact of the abuse automatically mean your ministry was not excellent?
