Bill Donohue of the Catholic League comes to Rod Dreher’s defense in the letters of the Dallas Morning News (scroll down to “Lucky to have Dreher”).
Donohue says it all much more succintly than I did, but gets the same point across. Havard’s attack on Dreher is emblematic of the “circle the wagons” approach to criticism of bishops and priests that led to the cover-up Scandal in the first place.
