Evangelical commentator Chuck Colson offers his comments on the furor over Mel Gibson’s The Passion. He’s conflated a few things and some things have changed—I think Mel has relented a little and will allow subtitles—but his basic point is right on.
If this were any other director and this film were anything other than an attempt to faithfully recount the Passion, left-wing Hollywood would be screaming about censorship and intolerance.
