A New Hampshire priest apparently killed himself over the weekend after having sex abuse charges filed against him. Some people are leaping to the conclusion that he was guilty, but that’s a dangerous assumption. It’s also possible that an innocent man despaired at the prospect of his life being irretrievably destroyed over a false accusation.
In the current climate, could an innocent man falsely accused ever get back his life? People will look at him for the rest of his life and wonder. In fact, some priests aknowledge that even those who have not been accused still find people staring and probably wondering. Satan certainly has done his job well by putting the wedge of these awful sins between priests and the people.
