Ah, that’s much clearer … or not

The Diocese of Cleveland’s Office for Liturgy has issued a clarification. Remember the news stories that said all kinds of new requirements will be placed on people celebrating Mass, including hugging your neighbors at the Sign of Peace? Well, the liturgists want you to know they were misunderstood. But there’s still a few strange bits even in this explanation.

Fr. Murray explained that there will be changes in the way Roman Catholics in the United States will do Holy Communion. [Emphasis added]

“Do Holy Communion?” You don’t “do” Communion. You “receive” Communion. You can even “celebrate” Communion, but you don’t “do” it. It sounds too much like two people “doing” lunch.
