The canon law aspects

The PBS show Religion & Ethics Newsweekly did a story on the canon law aspects of the Dallas policy and why the Vatican is reworking it.

The story is mostly good, especially the stuff from Fr. John Beal on what constitutes a “credible accusation,” the statute of limitations, and innocence until proven guilty. Jim Post of VOTF is predictable, as is Margaret Steinfel’s harping on the the Vatican clinging to its authority against laypeople.
