Remember last week when Archbishop Michael Fitzgerald, former head of the Pontifical Council for Religious Dialogue and now apostolic nuncio to Cairo, criticized Pope Benedict’s decision to link his former council with the Pontifical Council for Culture?
At the time I wondered if it would have repercussions for Fitzgerald. American Papist caught this in the Vatican bulletin:
On Saturday, The Holy Father today received in separate audiences ... Archbishop Michael Louis Fitzgerald M. Afr., apostolic nuncio to the Arab Republic of Egypt and delegate to the Organization of the League of Arab States.
Oh to have been a fly on the wall.
