Someone said in the comments on “Hypocrisy on adult consent” that cases are already in the works to challenge laws against bigamy and incest and the like.
I noticed in the Clerks office of the City of Salem, when I went to pick up a copy of my marriage license, that there was a list posted of the people you couldn’t marry, i.e. mother, father, brother, sister, and so on. It was quite extensive and I wondered why that should be. After all, based on the logic of the Mass. Supreme Judicial Court, the state shouldn’t be able to prevent anyone from marrying.
Just wait until the first mother-son couple want to marry in order to get health benefits. Or the first same-sex heterosexual couple, like the guys in Toronto. I wonder what tortured logic they’ll use to allow only gay couples to marry.
I also noticed when I went to change my driver’s license an option for changing one’s sex at the RMV.
