Today is a very special day

Today is traditionally the Feast of the Annunciation, a special day dedicated to the Virgin Mary, when we commemorate the event in which she gave her fiat to becoming the Mother of God. But I like to call today the Feast of the Incarnation, because it is the day on which Our Lord took on human flesh as an embryo in Mary’s womb. So, technically today, not Christmas, is the day Our Lord became a human being. In fact in several Latin American countries, today is an official holiday known as Day of the Unborn Child. So it is also a special day for pro-lifers. It is a nice day to celebrate life in the middle of Lent.
